The Reverend Sean K. Rousseau, Rector

The Rev. Sean K. Rousseau was born and baptized at March A.F.B, Riverside, CA. Sean and his sister grew up in Annandale, VA where their parents still live. His sister lives in Ashburn with her two children. He graduated from St. Michael Elementary School, Annandale, VA, Bishop Ireton High School, Alexandria, VA, and St. Charles Borromeo Seminary College Division in Philadelphia, PA where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, and continued into the Theology Division to earn a Masters of Divinity with Concentration in Systematic Theology.

Sean served in many Seminary internships. In College, he taught for two years at Archbishop Ryan School for Deaf Children, Philadelphia, PA. In Theology, he had an assignment each year: taught at Kennedy-Kendrick High School, Norristown, PA, jail ministry at Montgomery County Correctional Facility, Norristown, PA, chaplain ministry at Children’s Hospital, Philadelphia, PA, and deacon year parish ministry at Our Lady of Consolation Parish, Parkesburg, PA, as well as two summers in parish ministry at St. Mary, Star of Sea Parish, Key West, FL, and deacon summer parish ministry at St. Mary Parish, Fredericksburg, VA.

Sean was ordained to the Deaconate May 28, 1994, and to the Priesthood on May 20, 1995 for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Arlington, VA. His assignments included: Associate Priest at St. Leo the Great Parish, Fairfax, VA, St. John the Apostle Parish, Leesburg, VA, Holy Spirit Parish, Annandale, VA, and Good Shepherd Parish, Alexandria, VA; as well as Priest-in-Charge at St. Stephen the Martyr Parish, Middleburg, VA, and Founding Priest-in-Charge at Corpus Christi Mission, South Riding, VA. Other assignments included: Adult Coordinator for Diocesan Work Camp Team, Committee Member for Diocesan Diaconal Program, Committee Member for Diocesan Technology Committee, and Project Manager for Diocesan Capital Campaign.

Sean was received into The Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Virginia at Christ Church, Winchester, VA, on March 21, 2010 after having been a Roman Catholic priest for fifteen years. During 2010, he completed a Program of Directed Studies under the direction of The Rev. Edward Miller, Rector of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Mclean, VA, The Rev. Rachelle Birnbaum, Rector of All Saints – Sharon Chapel Episcopal Church, Alexandria, VA, and The Rev. Craig Phillips, Rector of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Arlington, VA. Soon after completing this Program on April 3, 2011, he was received as a priest into The Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Virginia. On February 1, 2011, he accepted the position of Interim Assistant Rector at Christ Episcopal Church, Winchester, VA. On September 1, 2011, he accepted and began the position of Priest-in-charge at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Oak Grove, VA. 

On July 24, 2012, Sean accepted the position of Priest-in-charge at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Haymarket, Virginia.  The Priest-in charge position began September 1, 2012. On January 1, 2016, Sean began the position of Rector at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Haymarket, VA.

Sean celebrated his wedding with Kerry on July 7, 2011 at Christ Episcopal Church, Winchester, VA. Kerry is a Music Teacher at Weyanoke Elementary School, Alexandria, VA, and the mother of three children, L.J., Aislinn, and Summer Grace.  Kerry & Sean welcomed another child in March 2013, Eowyn (Wyn).  The entire family resides together in South Riding, VA.

 

 

George Fulda, Director of Music Ministry

George has been an active church musician for over 40 years.  At a young age, he participated in choirs and music ministry at St Peter the Fisherman in Fairmont, WV.  In his teens, he was a substitute organist for many parishes around North Central WV and served as Handbell Choir Director and Christ United Methodist Church, also in Fairmont. Soon after his marriage to Samantha in 1999, he served as organist at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont for 7 years until leaving WV for the DC area in 2006. Through college and throughout his adult life, George has served as Musical Director, Pianist and Conductor for theatrical productions in WV and in the DC area, including performances at the Kennedy Center and other Regional and Community Theaters.
 
As a life-long educator, George has been teaching both piano and voice lessons for decades, most proudly to include his own children and several children from St. Paul's. Having earned his Masters and Doctorate in Educational Leadership from West Virginia University, George now works full time for the DoD at Defense Acquisition University as an educational technology administrator. George joined the congregation of St. Paul's in Haymarket in 2016 with his wife, Samantha and children Alex and Lili.  Since that time, the whole family has been engaged in the choir and other liturgical ministries. After serving as occasional supply organist and member of the guitar ensemble since that time, George took over as Director of Music Ministry on May 29th of 2022.
